Lee Van Cleef. 40.  Ex-accountant actor turned plausible Spaghetti Western villain. Good American accent. Reasonably athletic.

We need to cast Lee Van Cleef before tomorrow (Tuesday) evening with a rehearsal on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (no pressure then! ;))

Slap Happy Rehearsals are currently set for the evening of Tuesday 25th June 2013 and Thursday 27th June 2013 in the evening at a venue in or near central London. 

RealDeal Theatre is a voluntary theatre group giving opportunities to both emerging and established writers, actors and directors.

RealDeal Theatre is bringing in directors new to our group for this event and asking them to cast actors with whom they have not previously worked.

This event has a short time commitment and is unpaid. Performances will be photographed and may be filmed. If the plays are filmed, actors will receive a copy of the video

The final performance will be a script-in-hand, semi-staged performance on the evening of Saturday, 29th June 2013 at Westminster Reference Library, 35 St Martin’s Street, London WC2H 7HP, just off Leicester Square.

This is a casting call for How It Turned Out by Alice Josephs directed by Craig Gilbert.

An elderly couple alternately bicker and come together lovingly as they live out their twilight years together. But as a veteran star of the silver screen and a celebrated author, with tangled love lives and careers mixed with politics, they can never retire from their pasts ... Based on a true story.

Erich Maria Remarque – Aged 69. German Accent. Hard-drinking lapsed Catholic  womanizing emigré novelist plagued by heart problems.

Younger actors who can convincingly play up in age considered.

This is a two-hander and, as the script-in-hand performance is on Saturday 29th June 2013, casting will take place very quickly at a time and place mutually convenient to director and applicant.

Equally up to two four-hour rehearsals (at the director’s discretion) at a time and date to be arranged but always in or near central London easily accessible by public transport. Daytime availability would be an advantage.

This is a casting call for Bollywood Rose by Sumerah Srivastav directed by David Henson. Applicants should either have musical theatre training or  demonstrate aptitude for song and dance to professional standards.

Recently dumped Aisha is taken ‘inside’ a Bollywood movie by its character Raj to meet and marry his best friend the ‘Hero’.  When all does not go to plan Aisha re-writes the plot and presents her guide Raj with an alternative ending.  

Inspired by Woody Allen’s The Purple Rose of Cairo, Bollywood Rose is a love letter between the romance of Bollywood and the realities of love in the 21st century.

A  grey haired mother, the lights of the big city, cops and robbers, a gangland boss and so much more ... When our naive but square jawed hero Bob gets the call from the Studio, he sets off  with sweet girlfriend Sissy on a scene by scene moving picture adventure.  How will our hero and heroine negotiate the threats, the stereotypes, the clichés and get their happy ending? And will Bob’s picture get funding?

 SEEKING VOLUNTEER USHERS/STEWARDS

VOLUNTEER USHERS/STEWARDS WANTED: Saturday, 29th June 5 pm - probably no later than 9 pm -ish ...
Voluntary theatre group RealDeal Theatre seeks stewards to help us out at Popcorn Saturday!, a new event of 10-15 minute plays celebrating cinema and the movies.

This will take place on Saturday, 29 June 2013 from 6.30pm on the ground floor of Westminster Reference Library, 35 St Martin's Street, London WC2H 7HP off Leicester Square. We would appreciate it if stewards could be at the library from 5 pm.

Stewards will help help rearrange the furniture, set out and help serve food and drink, hand out programmes, help clear up after the event, and generally make the event run as smoothly as possible!

The event, short plays starts at 6.30 pm and should finish well before 9 pm. RealDeal Theatre participants who want to will then go for a drink and volunteers are welcome to join us. This is a great opportunity to meet writers, directors, and the organisers of RealDeal Theatre.

Stewards will receive a token contribution to expenses of £2 each for a short-term time commitment which RealDeal Theatre seeks to plan carefully and make as enjoyable as possible for all participants.
